At Durbanville Primary we encourage participation in summer and winter sport. We believe that a healthy body will develop a healthy mind and we ask parents to support us in this matter.

The school has five qualified music teachers. Private lessons during school hours are conducted in piano, flute, recorder, keyboard, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, guitar and violin.

The choir consists of approximately 95 selected members. Practices take place on Tuesdays from 14:30 to 16:00 and Thursdays from 17:30 to 19:00. The choir participates annually in various choir festivals, Eisteddfods and competitions.
The drama groups participate annually in various festivals, Eisteddfods and competitions.
Learners participate annually in the Tygerberg Eisteddfod. Entries are made in the following categories: speech choir, reading, group reading, prose, dramatized prose, poetry, creative writing, art, piano, recorder, solo singing, duet singing and drama group projects.
The Zoem-Zoem Club was established with fun, adventure and interaction as the main objectives. Approximately six excursions (under supervision) are undertaken per year. The cost of each excursion depends on the activity.
Extra art classes are presented privately by Mrs De Bruijn on a weekly basis. The learners are taught different techniques which can later be practised as a hobby. They get the opportunity to work with numerous media such as clay, wood, paper mâché etc.
